(CNN) -- Pope Francis began his first full day as leader of the Catholic Church praying at the Basilica of Saint Mary Major in Rome, Vatican spokesman Federico Lombardi said.

Celebrates Mass with cardinals at Sistine Chapel

Friday, 11 a.m. (6 a.m. ET)
Meets with the full College of Cardinals, electors and non-electors

Saturday, 11 a.m. (6 a.m. ET)
Meets with journalists

Sunday, 12 p.m. (7 a.m. ET)
Recites the first Angelus of his papacy in St. Peter's Square

Tuesday, 9:30 a.m. (4:30 a.m.)
Participates in Mass to inaugurate the new papacy
